I started my career at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB)
– an agency spearheading the economic growth and strategies of
Singapore. There, I struck public-private partnership deals with global
MNCs in the cleantech sector for investments into Singapore ā this
includes a S$250 million investment by REC Solar into solar photovoltaic
(PV) manufacturing and R&D.
I then moved over to another division in EDB focusing on corporate
innovation and venture capital (VC) investments. There, I was involved in
end-to-end VC deal operations (i.e., from sourcing to portfolio
management) for deals ranging from Seed to Series B. I also gained
experience with the intricacies of corporate innovation and how
corporates and start-ups can best collaborate for win-win outcomes.
Lastly, I forged strategic partnerships with corporates for co-investment
and venture building.
