I started in business at HEC Montréal, then trained in industrial design at Université de Montréal. I wanted to understand how a product gets made, how it gets funded, and how it reaches its market. That mix of designer and business mind has shaped everything I’ve done since.
For more than 25 years, I’ve helped build, scale, and transform organizations: FLO (formerly AddÉnergie), BDC (Business Development Bank of Canada), and many mid-sized and large businesses across North America in energy, logistics, and transportation. I’m an entrepreneur at heart and have founded several organizations along the way. I’ve also worked from other seats. Sometimes I was inside as an executive. Sometimes I was a very involved board member, especially at pivotal moments. And sometimes I came in as a hands-on advisor, less a consultant and more an extra pair of capable hands, there to help the team shape its vision and turn it into clear execution. I’ve also worked alongside funds, giving them a unique view into their portfolio companies and extra capability where it was needed.
One idea has run through my whole career: putting resources where they matter most. Every organization has a few big boulders that will change everything once they move. They often look difficult to budge at first, but once they start rolling, they gain speed. My job is to help teams find those few things, put their people, time, and capital behind them, and keep going until the momentum builds. I’m a courageous team player. I’ll say the hard thing when it needs saying, but more importantly, I know how to listen.
Joining Shift4Good lets me bring all of this to founders building resilient transportation and energy, and the supply chains that support them. We live in fascinating times, and real progress will take courage, capital, and people working together to get things right.
What I love doing
I’m happiest outside and moving: hiking, swimming, and skiing on both snow and water (yes, I’ll take any surface that lets me glide). My newest obsession is golf, a humbling sport that keeps me coming back for more.
I’ve always been a hub for family, friends, friends of friends, and my son’s ever-growing crew. These days it all comes together at our cottage in the Laurentians, where the door is always open and everyone just shows up. It’s simple and generous, with laughter from the toddlers to the grandparents, and often (if not always) more people at the table than we planned for.
