Shift4Good 2025 Portfolio Round-Up
Turning Transport Decarbonisation into Measurable Impact
In 2025, we closed our inaugural impact fund at €220 million and now back a concentrated group of founders across Europe and Asia who are transforming transport decarbonisation into hard numbers: tonnes of CO₂ avoided, batteries repaired instead of scrapped, fleets electrified, ships propelled by wind, and real-world systems deployed at scale. Here’s a snapshot of what that progress looked like in 2025.
Circular batteries and materials
NEU Battery Materials – lithium without the shovel
In 2025, NEU crossed a major technical milestone. Its electrolyzers surpassed 2028 durability targets ahead of schedule, while achieving five times lower carbon emissions than conventional lithium mining. The company also gained international recognition as Overall Champion and Green Tech Winner at EPiC 2025, standing out among more than 1,200 startups from 70 countries.
NOWOS – making battery repair the default *New portfolio company*
In 2025, NOWOS raised €6M to accelerate its mission to make battery repair the default. The company processed 90,000+ batteries for repair, earned a Solar Impulse Award for its work with Swapfiets, and expanded beyond micromobility into other sectors like energy storage and industrial applications.
NovoMOF – carbon capture built on Nobel-recognised science *New portfolio company*
In 2025, novoMOF advanced industrial carbon capture following a CHF 4.4 million funding round led by GTT Strategic Ventures, with participation from Shift4Good, Regenerative, and existing shareholders. The company deployed MOF-based carbon capture systems across eight pilot projects in five industry verticals, translating Nobel Prize–recognised science into solutions designed for real-world operating conditions.
Decarbonising maritime and port operations
Cetasol – AI for workboats and coastal fleets *New portfolio company*
Cetasol raised a €2.3M seed round led by BackingMinds, with Shift4Good and Sarsia participating. The company unveiled iHelm Cloud Dashboard 2.0, giving ship operators real-time visibility into fuel use and vessel performance which is a critical lever for efficiency in workboat and coastal fleets.
bound4blue – wind propulsion moves into the mainstream *2025 follow-on*
2025 marked a breakout year for bound4blue. The company has just closed a $44 million Series B led by OCTAVE Capital and Katapult Ocean to accelerate the commercial rollout of their wind-assisted propulsion at scale. eSAILS have now been deployed on 7 ships, with 12 additional vessels and more than 50 eSAILs in the order book. bound4blue also expanded its customer base in the gas sector, including BW Epic Kosan, while Maersk began manufacturing eSAILS in 2025. And with multiple independent third-party assessments (including from Lloyd’s Register), performance moved from promise to proof.
Pyxis – electrifying harbour craft in Asia *2025 follow-on*
In 2025, Pyxis secured S$13 million in growth funding, backed by Shift4Good and joined by new investors including MOL Plus, the venture arm of Mitsui OSK Lines. The company secured 17 electric vessel orders across Singapore and the region, while building the enabling infrastructure, with two ultra-fast marine charging sites already live. Pyxis also launched Pyxis R, a next-generation solar-electric passenger ferry in Singapore, and signed a Heads of Agreement with Mitsui OSK Lines to explore a joint venture for regional deployment. Expansion continued through a strategic partnership with Utomodeck Group in Indonesia.
Sinay – linking ocean health and data
In 2025, Sinay continued to scale environmental intelligence at sea, expanding its monitoring footprint toward 472 sites globally by year-end. The company’s momentum was also reflected in leadership recognition, with its CFO named “Most Innovative Maritime Tech CFO 2025.”
Smarter fleets, logistics and corporate mobility
Routematic – petrol-free corporate mobility in India *New portfolio company*
Routematic raised €17 million Series C, co-led by Fullerton Fund Management and Shift4Good, to accelerate petrol-free corporate mobility across India. The platform now helps avoid more than 2 million vehicle trips each month, saving over 3,000 tonnes of CO₂ monthly, while operating a fleet of 3,200+ vehicles across major cities, 11% of which are electric. A major milestone came with the launch of India’s first fully petrol- and diesel-free corporate transport fleet in Pune, in partnership with Infosys.
Shippeo – real-time visibility at enterprise scale *2025 follow-on*
In 2025, Shippeo strengthened its leadership in real-time supply-chain visibility, raising a $30 million strategic round led by Woven Capital to accelerate expansion across the US and APAC. The company was also officially endorsed in the SAP Store and launched Shippeo AI, turning trusted visibility data into instant, intelligent action for global enterprises.
Everyday mobility: bikes, EVs and insurance
Vapaus – building Europe’s leading employee bike benefit platform
In 2025, Vapaus became Vapaus Group, marking a new phase of growth as the company expanded its European footprint through the acquisition of Azfalte in France. The move strengthened Vapaus' position as a leading employee bike benefit platform in Europe, supporting employers and employees in shifting to everyday active mobility. The company was also recognised in the Earth Summit BE100, highlighting its leadership in advancing sustainable mobility at scale.
Laka – collective, customer-first insurance *2025 follow-on*
In 2025, Laka closed a £7.7 million Series B, co-led by Shift4Good and MS&AD Ventures, alongside a £6.5 million debt facility from HSBC Innovation Banking to support European expansion and M&A. The company expanded partnerships across Europe, including with Decathlon Belgium, LEMMO, and TARRAN. Laka’s momentum was reinforced by multiple industry awards, including an eighth consecutive win as Best Cycle Insurance Provider (2025) and Best D2C Insurtech at the Global Insurtech Awards.
ChargeEuropa - scaling accessible EV charging across Europe *2025 follow-on*
In 2025, ChargeEuropa closed a €2.3 million Series A+, backed by Shift4Good, Simpact, and Grandyard, to accelerate the rollout of EV charging infrastructure. The company secured approximately 590 sites for deployment and expanded its network to 140 charging stations across Poland, with 98 live for charging. ChargeEuropa also completed its first hardware sale in Bucharest, Romania, and partnered with PKO Leasing to scale deployments through a debt financing structure.
Photonics & connected vehicles
Compredict – software-defined vehicle intelligence
This year, Compredict, together with Sonatus, launched an AI-based Virtual Headlight Leveling Sensor, replacing physical sensors with a software-only solution using CAN data. The company also doubled down on its core strength: turning millions of kilometres of raw automotive data into actionable insights on component wear and health.
Eyelights – AR technology for safer mobility
In 2025, Eyelights signed a distribution agreement with SHOEI Japan to distribute AR helmets in Europe, with production now underway. In parallel, the team achieved promising breakthroughs in smart-glasses miniaturisation, advancing prototypes compatible with next-generation AR designs and continuing R&D toward screen-free mobility interfaces.
Looking ahead
A huge congratulations to all our founders and teams on these milestone achievements. From ports to bikes, batteries to ships, and data to hardware, our portfolio deployed, scaled, and delivered united by execution in the real economy. We’re proud to back founders who roll up their sleeves and do the hard work of turning ambition into infrastructure, products, and measurable impact.
Onward to 2026.
