PKO Leasing SA and ChargeEuropa Join Forces
With PKO Leasing SA backing ChargeEuropa’s rollout, one of Poland’s largest financial institutions takes a decisive step toward accelerating zero-emission transportation - marking a breakthrough moment for clean mobility financing in the region.
PKO Leasing SA and ChargeEuropa Join Forces to Accelerate the Rollout of EV Charging Infrastructure Across Poland
In a landmark deal set to reshape Poland’s clean transport landscape, PKO Leasing SA has partnered with ChargeEuropa, a leading ad-supported EV charging network, to finance the nationwide rollout of public EV chargers. This collaboration represents a crucial step toward making electric mobility accessible to all - not just the few.
Poland faces a unique challenge in the shift to electric vehicles. A large portion of the population lives in multifamily housing blocks (bloki mieszkaniowe) - buildings constructed long before private parking or EV charging were ever considered. Since most EV charging happens at home, this leaves millions without a practical way to own or operate an electric vehicle.
ChargeEuropa has developed a solution. By working with housing cooperatives (spółdzielnie mieszkaniowe) to install chargers at nearby on-street parking locations, and financing the build-out through digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising - the company is making clean mobility available where it’s needed most.
But ChargeEuropa’s mission doesn’t stop at residential neighborhoods.
“We’re not just building chargers next to multifamily housing blocks - we’re bringing EV charging to every corner of urban life,” said Matt Tymowski, CEO of ChargeEuropa. “We install stations where people live, shop, work, and socialize - including commercial properties, retail hubs, and dense urban corridors. It’s EV charging for everyone, not just highway travelers or single-family homeowners.”
The missing link to scale this infrastructure across the country has been large-scale financing - and now PKO Leasing SA, Poland’s largest leasing company, has stepped up to fill that gap.
“This is about more than financing chargers,” said Agata Szafrańska, Account Manager at PKO Leasing SA. “It’s about enabling a systemic transformation in how Poland moves. By supporting ChargeEuropa’s innovative model, we are helping unlock access to electric mobility for millions of people - and driving forward Poland’s clean energy and climate ambitions.”
The partnership is expected to supercharge ChargeEuropa’s expansion plans, enabling new installations in high-footfall locations across the country - from city sidewalks to shopping centers. Because the infrastructure is partially funded by advertising, the model is financially self-sustaining and highly scalable.
“Clean transportation must work for everyone - not just early adopters or highway drivers,” added Tymowski. “Thanks to PKO Leasing SA, we now have the firepower to build a truly inclusive and impactful charging network across Poland.”
