Matthieu de Chanville

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

After three professional experiences in the movie production industry during my studies, I finally started my career in strategy and management consulting in 1998.

A few years later, I joined a startup in Internet consulting as the 7th employee ; we grew it to 130 employees across Europe in just one year when we suddenly were hit by the Internet bubble burst.

I then joined A.T. Kearney where I gained international experience as a strategy consultant, serving Corporate clients across strategy, innovation and Tech-enabled transformation initiatives. I led 50+ consulting projects for large clients in the Hi-Tech, Telecom and Media sectors in Europe, Middle-East, North Africa, Asia and the US.

Later, at the Boston Consulting Group, I worked on the launch of startups for Corporate clients, led a global benchmark on Corporate Venture Capital and designed the future CVC of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance (leading global carmaker alliance), Alliance Ventures.

In 2017, I joined the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance to launch Alliance Ventures and to co-lead the management of the fund to invest globally in ambitious startups that develop innovative automotive technologies and new mobility services. I developed an ecosystem of VC and accelerator partners in China, the US, Europe and Israel to source and realize the best investment opportunities. The fund portfolio has now reached a 3x valuation vs invested capital with 3 listed startups and 3 unicorns.

In July 2021, I decided to join forces with my fellow partners Yann, Sébastien and Thierry to co-launch Shift4Good!

On top of that, I have been acting as entrepreneur mentor and business angel for 10+ years and I have been teaching strategy and open innovation for 15+ years at HEC, where I am now involved in the Impact investing academic programs.

What I love doing

I love spending quality time with my 3 suns: my wife and my two daughters, Clara and Amber. Corsica, the island that the Greeks rightly named Kalliste (“the most beautiful”) has become my second home and passion for the past 25 years. I also love cinema, tennis, traveling and enjoying good food and associated wines.
